The Municipality of Huron East has approved its 10-Year Community Services Master Plan, providing a roadmap for the future of parks, recreation facilities, programs, cemeteries, daycare, and community services across the municipality.

About the Master Plan
The Community Services Master Plan includes a comprehensive review of existing programs, facilities, parks, cemeteries, service levels, budgets, partnerships, and staff capacity. Through extensive community engagement and analysis, the Plan establishes short-, medium-, and long-term recommendations designed to be practical, flexible, and financially sustainable.
The Municipality retained McQueen Galloway Associates (MGA) to lead the development of the Plan. Working closely with Municipal staff, Council, community organizations, and residents, MGA helped assess current services, identify community priorities, and develop recommendations to guide future decision-making.
Public engagement played a central role in the planning process. Input gathered through surveys, workshops, community events, stakeholder meetings, and discussions with residents helped shape the Plan's recommendations and confirm priorities for the future.

Public engagement was a key part of the planning process. Residents, community groups, committees, boards, staff, Council, local partners, schools, and youth were invited to share their experiences, identify strengths, and highlight opportunities for improvement through community sessions, committee and board discussions, staff engagement, a Council workshop, public events, and two community-wide surveys.
Feedback gathered throughout the process helped confirm local priorities, assess current and future needs, and refine the recommendations included in the final Master Plan. The Municipality thanks everyone who contributed time, ideas, and local knowledge to the project.
