Skills for Success Training Program
The Huron East Skills for Success Program will officially launch at the Huron East Job and Volunteer Fair, where eligible residents can register in person for free or subsidized training opportunities. The program’s debut at the fair allows attendees to be the first to secure limited training spots and connect directly with staff to learn more about available courses and next steps.
Residents can sign up for a variety of high‑demand certifications, including:
- Safe Food Handling
- Smart Serve
- Standard First Aid & CPR
- Babysitting Certification
- Lifeguard Certifications (Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, National Lifeguard Service, Swim Instructor)
Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first‑come, first‑served basis at the fair.
Residents who successfully complete their selected course(s) during Spring or Summer 2026 may qualify for up to 100% reimbursement of training costs.
To receive reimbursement, participants must provide:
- Name and address
- Proof of payment
- Proof of course certification
Additional details about the reimbursement process will be provided upon registration.
This initiative supports both job seekers and local organizations by helping build a pool of qualified, job‑ready individuals. Whether you’re looking for part‑time or seasonal work, building toward a career, or hoping to volunteer, these certifications help open doors.
