Summer Day Camp Leaders in Brussels and Vanastra!☀️

Our 7 Week Day Camp Programs are run by our amazing Summer Students located at the Brussels, Morris & Grey Community Centre (BMG) and the Vanastra Recreation Centre (VRC) for ages 5-12! Lifeguarding in Vanastra and Brussels! 🏊

All our Lifeguards at Huron East are Certified and dedicated to making your journey in our swimming pools safe! In the Municipality of Huron East, we have two pools that are owned by the Municipality! The Vanastra Recreation Centre (VRC) and the Brussels Pool employ Lifeguards through the Municipality! Programs offered at the pools can also be viewed and registered for through RecDesk!

Public Works Department! 🚧

In our Public Works Department, we have 1 Student. In Public Works, each person strives on monitoring and keeping our communities safe! With the help of new technologies it is easier to keep track of maintenance in Huron East. Having a summer student familiar with technology is helpful when updating our GIS system.

Some of the main tasks the Public Works Summer Student does are:

- Sidewalk Inspections 🔧

- Checking Sign Reflectivity 🛑

- Repairing Watermain Breaks 🛠️

- Sidewalk Pouring 🧰

- and many other tasks! 👷

Municipal Office 🏛️

In the office, we have two Summer Students who are working to provide assistance to our Municipal Workers. Our Town Hall in Seaforth providing a variety of services. Our Building, Finance, Emergency Services, Administration, Community Services, and Economic Development teams are all working together to provide a wonderful experience for you in the Municipality of Huron East. Our Records Clerk Student:

Reporting to the Clerk, this year, the Records Clerk Student is viewing, analyzing, and scanning documents and maps (e.g. old drainage maps) and filing documents in our electronic database. Their work supports accurate recordkeeping and helps improve access to vital drainage information for the Drainage Superintendent for planning and maintenance purposes.

Our Administrative Student:

This year our Administrative Summer Student is working on many tasks to support all departments in the office. Specifically, assisting with Seaforth Homecoming 2025 and helping with advertising and promotion! They are also helping out at the front counter, answering phones, and processing payments. They are helping to ensure the smooth operation of municipal services during the busy summer months, while also giving themselves a valuable experience in public administration and office procedures.
